From here

I agree that the ending of the Demon Princes was good. What does Girsen say? "My enemies have deserted me, I am done" or something like that.

I guess Pallis became an ex somewhere before Girsen got on the trail of Billy Windle. With Alusz Whatsername, Vance needed to give Girsen a romantic attachment.

Although it would've made amusing (and probably poignant) reading to have the two woman at each other over Girsen, it's not something Vance got into re: plotlines and probalby would've added unneeded baggage to the story.

It's pretty clever how he gets rid of her at the beginning of the Palace of Love too, so he can deal with all the Drusilla's "unimpeded".

You're right re: the Tschai ending. It's the plot of the four books after all; to get a spaceship and leave. It's just so abrupt. That's how it seems to me, anyway. I just thought at the time when I first read them, that there would have been more to it.

You can't wondering how someone as genetically divergent as Anacho would've been treated on Earth. Traz and Zap210, less so, as they're manifestly more human, but Anacho? One could be mordant and envision him being strapped to the table in some future Area 51.
