Fels: A Chronology of Events, continued
All dates are in the AC, After Collision, mode. To convert into Anno Domini or Common Era mode, add 2455 to the year.- The Chaos, Years AC 1 to AC 2000
-
After the Collision there was an extended period of sheer anarchy. As odylicism and transcendental forces asserted themselves, people fled in fear and reverted in many places to Palaeolithic cultures. This is the situation which exists on the islands of Gutosjander and Fernesce to this day. Many people of Merhupneo migrated north to settle on the Three Rivers. One dominant culture settled on the volcanic island of Chird in the Fairge, and were to become the Chirda.
In Tronapt, where technology had reigned supreme, the few survivors that did exist took hold in settlements along the Gulf of Spance or waged wars with the barbarians of Fernesce. Elsewhere, things were no more settled; rebels and war refugees fled from the Beak of Corovan to Tamarudhe to form fiercely independent clans, thriving on gold and diamonds for trade.
The Attuned Wind convoke, and build Fenstre and many structures around it, including the Estate of Kamonva. About AC 700, the antecedents of the Canal Society move from Merhupneo to found settlements at Bozlin, Orur, Port Ofrey and Morgilt. They come into contact with the Chird.
The ancestors of the Kellem and Thad people move down from southern Mynatan. The ancestors of the Inforagers cross onto Stanf.
- The Quiet, Years AC 2000 to AC 6000
-
Why historians on Fels refer to this remarkable era as the Quiet is anybody's guess. It was an age of anything but quiet, with the situation in regards to odylicism had sorted itself out for the most part. The major event of this time was the settlement of Fenstre by the Five Septs from Orur and Bozlin in the Three Rivers around AC 2500. The Attuned Wind had long since abandoned their high and lofty city and the more rustic Septs found a locale much to their liking.
Elsewhere on Fels, Ge Diomala had been cast out of the Welkin by his peers and found Fels to be a playground ideal to his demented schemes. The Coiga descended from the Welkin also, to entwine themselves in the life of the Felsians. Cydain, especially, dickered further in the lives of ordinary men. Ydrys became chief deity of Fenstre and the reign of the Geriarchs began on or about AC 2650
- The Present Age, Years AC 6000 to now
- Systems of government, where they exist, asserted themselves and have remained solid, relatively speaking. Kyxx has retained its status as the pre-eminent city on Fels, and Garth is a long-forgotten ruin. Fenstre rules trade in the southern Three Rivers now. Paradoxically, its people aren't really aware of what's beyond the Orstrey River; being an inward and xenophobic race. Yet, Fenstre challenges the world, and those within it know not too many places on Fels can stand toe to toe with it.
- Conclusion
- The weight of antiquity hangs dreadfully heavy over Fels. Especially in the lower third of the Three Rivers, ruins and delapidation are everywhere; 12000+ years of rise and fall is reflected in the myriad of lost cities, crumbled edifices, stilled voices...
