The Wild Green Yonder
Romblesey
Romblesey is the land that is south of the River Mypsio and the Desert of Khuior, east of the Lorn Forest of Mynatan, west of the Myrtna Sea and north and northwest of Oloi. The area that lies between the Lorn and Sael Forests was called Findh, but has now fallen into disuse.
Romblesey lacks the rampant and dangerous wildlife of Oloi. It is still a land on the verge of wilderness and most of the towns are deserted and in ruins. The Shuganidz established many large farms in Romblesey all of which are now overgrown.
An offshoot of the Bradeer people of Arimorn live here, the Larl. The Larl moved north from Arimorn several millennia past to escape Veltor Wanderer persecution and since have become a distinct people. There is rare contact between the two, mainly as sailors visiting ports frequented by one or the other.
Like Oloi, most of Romblesey is savanna. The Larl move from camp to camp across the savanna following game. There is little foreign or trade traffic, especially inland. The exception to this is the settlement of Klobodyne in the geographic centre of Romblesey, which has been set up by the Larl to facilitate trade.
Porrh Luon on the Myrtna Sea is an independent settlement. Like Arstelope, its business is with the sea and the towns on it. Same goes for Ryksun and Taxan, which lie further north along the Myrtna Track. Northwest of Taxan lies the island of Xane which is home to a hermetic order and tolerate no visitors. Taxan was the home of the legendary Leander, who thwarted the desires of Ge Diomala in far off Exa.
Oloi
Oloi is the land that is demarcated on the south by the River Coutte and Nae, the east by the Tontomsi Forest and Mynatan, on the west by the Coloysi Hills and the north by the River Lorss and Romblesey. Geographically, Oloi is savanna, in a floodplain created by the upper Coutte. Lush grassland covers most of it.
Like any other region in the Three Rivers, Oloi is merely a name on a map rather than a political entity. Oloi is a wild and unsettled land, probably the most wild south of the Horrid Barrens. At no real time in Fels' history was Oloi settled for any great length of time. The towns that exist in Oloi are fortified and any travelling that is done is done as a guarded caravan.
Oloi's main inhabitants are the descendants of odylic experiments, many from the nearby Tontomsi Forest, or set free by the practitioners in Leumir in Mynatan. Any traveller inevitably has to deal with teratoids of all shapes and sizes, some benign, others feral and cunning.
North of Losbokk Ford on the Coutte is the walled settlement of Pormaz. Like many of the outposts in Oloi, it is owned and governed by the Hanse of Kilvisti. Expeditions by wealthy Hanser hunters set out in the grasslands to capture the teratoids for sport and exhibitions in circuses and zoological gardens.
North of Pormaz, on the beginnings of the River Lorss and in the foothills of the Coloysi Hills is the mining settlement of Ghert. Ghert is claimed by no-one and is ruled by a village council. The metals mined here go around the Hills to the west to Arstelope where they are shipped elsewhere. Few travellers purposely go to Ghert.
East of both Ghert and Pormaz and close on the verge of the Tontomsi Forest is another Hanser outpost named Vatarkiu. For the most part it is identical to Pormaz except expeditions here go into the deeps of the Forest for their sport, a most dangerous exercise.
On the track between Ghert and the Mynatan town of Nuis is another Hanser staging ground, Vordu. There has been grumblings from Griflis that the Hanser activities here has stirred monsters up and caused encroaches, to which Kilvisti has made no response.
The last town of note in Oloi is Arstelope. It sits in a narrow valley nestled between the Myrtna Sea and the Coloysi Hills. Due to its location, it is free of the abominations of life that predate elsewhere. Arstelope is ruled by an elected council and most of its trade is pelagic. Arstelopian vessels ply up and down the Myrtna littoral, some as far north as Port Khain in Eriane in summer. They only travel as far south as Tosban and do not go to Lwedne or enter the Fairge. The Great Central Road from Port Harner ends here. The Myrtna Track passes through here as well, coming from Thyrdd in the south and going to Porrh Luon to the north.
