A Fels Glossary
This page is as an alphabetical listing of people, places and events significant to the world of Fels. It's here for my own benefit mainly, so I can keep track of who's who and what's what but the incoming surfer may find something of interest here.
- A
- Abodes Home of various powers inside the Argence. Pocket universes, so to speak. Generally inaccessible to the average traveller.
- Aegyptus Juvens Legendary man from Cabbersea, in Orchland in the far sub-arctic north of the Three Rivers who obtained the Triocular and balanced the three worlds of Collision, Natural Law and Odylicism and prevented Fels from being absorbed into the pure odylic realm. His current whereabouts are unknown, although an apocryphal tale says he married Rolinna and settled in Telxerxes in Forosth. His story is dealt with here.
- Alsuhail The sun that Fels orbits around. Its a real star, Lambda Velorum to give its genitive name.
- Aludra D'Arrest Daughter of Geriarch Krame, sister of Quyle and Drawn. A Dyne by profession. Lover of Taunil Trowheald.
- Antemery A somewhat racist term applied by the Canal Society of Fenstre to anyone not of their ilk. Also, street-talk for any foreigner. Antemery is the plural, antemer is the singular.
- Argence A mystical and invisible barrier that exists between the "normal" world and the realm of the odylic worlds, such as Exa or Cththonia. A trained sorcerer can move either side of this barrier at will. The term to "go inside the Argence" means basically planar travel. It takes great skill to accurately travel to a known destination either side. More often than not, a traveller finds him or herself far away in both space and time from where they intended to go.
- Attuned Wind, the A cabal of practitioners specialising in the field of creation, the most difficult to master. They originate from southwestern Forosth. At one time, in the early days of Fels not long after the Collision, they were an idealistic and noble group, constructing their wondrous buildings far and wide across the southern Three Rivers. Over the years, the ideals have faded and their numbers have dwindled. They are isolated now on Grifne, an island off the coast of Forosth. Their leader is traditionally titled the Octagon and their symbol are three crescents joined at the tip within a circle.
- B

- Canal Society The native population of the city of Fenstre. As opposed to antemery. The singular form of this is Societor.
