Red Seas Under Red Skies is the second book of Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastards series. It picks up two years after the events in The Lies of Locke Lamora.

This book is set primarily in Tal Verrar, a city-state Lynch describes as on the edge of the civilized world. It has a Venetian/Florentine feel to it, and Lynch liberally sprinkles his world with Italian (and pseudo-Italian) names and customs. Reading this book (and the first one) I half-expected the heroes to run into a Borgia or a de Medici.

You know, I should write to this thing more often. But most of the time when I set out to maintain a blog, I get to where you enter something and it's like errr...
I consider myself a competent and able writer, but not when it comes to blogging. I have this innate aversion to journaling.
